I Choose You, I Do a poem about faith by Stephen Fuller

Whispers in tree tops I lingered
Long enough to decode
Have at last made their way
Into my heart. I do not understand
Why this path was necessary,
Why You had to forge me into a brazen sword
Before bedding me on leaves I gathered
Fallen from trees grown like
Benchmarks of faith in this field.

I do choose You, knowing the answer
Does not flow from the river I pour
From my cup, but from the sea
You hold as a reservoir of Love
For us who have fought our way
Home to a Truth, so vast
We see a mere glimpse, but in that
Glimpse, we surrender, at last, to
Live. I choose you, I do.
