One Rainbow, a Throwback Friday poem by S Francis

‘There is only one rainbow’
Father said to daughter.
‘How could that be, Daddy?
She wisely asked in return.’
‘Because God gave it to me
For safe-keeping. In my pocket
It stays for the lost soul I meet
On the horizon in need of it.’
‘This cannot be,’ she said.
‘But why?’ Father asked, foolish.
‘Because God gave this one to me
To keep safe in my pocket for you.’
I wrote this poem quite a few years ago for my daughter. Once posted at Sailor Poet, now revised a small amount. I hope you enjoy! Stop by GoDogGoCafe this afternoon for other Barista’s Flashbacks!
